Ravi Hemlani
Sales Intern | University of Massachusetts
What skills are you developing through your internship? What excites you about working at Acuity Brands?
I'm learning how to sell products to different clients, how to communicate effectively, and how to pitch. Really, I'm looking to take my knowledge of sales to the next level as it really is the most transferrable skill one can learn. I'm excited to be working for an established company with a long-standing history of being a reliable manufacturer. The history alone of Acuity Brands is something I found genuinely interesting.
Any hobbies, interests, or passions you’d like to share?
I'm most passionate about mixed martial arts (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing). I also enjoy cooking, reading, the outdoors, and history.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would definitely travel somewhere in the Caribbean. Maybe Jamaica or the Bahamas :)
Zach Hales
Corporate Communications Intern | Brigham Young University-Idaho
What skills are you developing through your internship? What excites you about working at Acuity Brands?
Through this internship, I want to learn more about the skills and processes necessary to make a communications team successful in a corporate setting. I'm very excited to work in a large company that is diving further into the technology sector. There are so many opportunities with this and am excited to see where it takes Acuity Brands.
Any hobbies, interests, or passions you’d like to share?
I practically love anything that has to do with cars. On the side, I do freelance writing about cars.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to live and work out of Switzerland. It looks amazing there.

Data and ML Intern | University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
What skills are you developing through your internship? What excites you about working at Acuity Brands?
Automating and setting up pipelining for Machine Learning processes and Data Engineering. The challenging yet exciting projects, a chance to work with difficult real time data excites me the most.
Any hobbies, interests, or passions you’d like to share?
Love to make best out of waste creations, I enjoy dance as well.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Miami maybe, or Malibu. I love beaches!
