eldoLED Track Driver, nLight Autonomous Bridging Technology Selected for the 2021 IES Progress Report

ATLANTA – August 16, 2021 – Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) announced today that the eldoLED®  48V DC LED Track driver and nLight® Autonomous Bridging Technology (ABT) were selected for the 2021 Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Progress Report, which showcases the year's most significant developments in the art and science of lighting. Selections were made by an impartial committee that evaluated submissions based on uniqueness, innovation, and significance to the lighting industry.

2021 IES Progress Report winners are:

eldoLED 48V DC LED Track driver is a small programmable track driver that meets industry requirements for flicker performance while achieving high-quality dimming. This 48-volt, 32-watt DC power supplied LED driver enables Human-Centric Lighting by delivering a high degree of light quality and consistent dimming performance for most miniaturized and smaller form factor track lighting systems. The driver provides a variety of programmable output versions (150-1050mA output current range), delivering flexible and dynamic white and dim-to-dark capabilities. When compared to other track drivers available on the market, the 48V DC LED Track driver is currently the only one that meets the qualifications for UL recognition, EMI compliance, ENEC & CE, and flicker performance.

nLight Autonomous Bridging Technology (ABT) greatly increases the range and improves the responsiveness of wireless networked lighting controls across indoor and outdoor spaces and around obstructions. Through ABT, networked messages are repeated across multiple, already-connected wireless devices. This bridging technology extends messages farther, increasing the wireless range from 3x to 4x in both indoor and outdoor environments. Also, ABT extends messages around obstructions such as corners, walls, elevators, and stairwells. Autonomous Bridging Technology extends the lighting controls network while allowing wireless groups to broadcast strong, uniform signals across long distances in unison, creating a robust network without adding unnecessary latency to general operation. Existing nLight® AIR devices in a space can be firmware updated to deliver ABT capability. Plus, the device network is self-forming, eliminating the cost and installation challenges associated with dedicated repeater devices.  Over time, the intelligent network will automatically self-improve, ensuring reliable communication even in dynamic spaces.

"We are honored to be recognized by industry experts and peers for our driver and controls technologies," said Acuity Brands Lighting Senior Vice President Sarah Golish. "The inclusion in the IES Progress Report helps showcase Acuity Brands advancements in our driver and wireless controls innovations and reflects our ability to continuously provide customized solutions for a variety of applications.”
