EarthLIGHT in Action Charity Winners
With over 1.1 million people in Michigan facing food insecurity, West Michigan Lighting and Controls, Acuity's Grand Rapids based agent, decided to take action. In April 2023, the West Michigan Lighting team went to Kids' Food Basket to put EarthLIGHT into action by packaging healthy food for distribution in the local community. In addition, they displayed initiative by thoroughly prepping and cleaning the area before and after packaging the food.
With all the good West Michigan Lighting has done in their community, we are proud to select them as one of the winners of our EarthLIGHT in Action program. West Michigan Lighting has decided to give the $10,000 Acuity EarthLIGHT in Action donation to Kids' Food Basket.
In addition, for their own EarthLIGHT efforts, Connexion was selected as a winner for their volunteer event at the Chicago Furniture Bank. The team supported the Chicago Furniture Bank's mission by putting together over 250 care packages with household/kitchen essentials for families in need. Connexion was honored to give the $10,000 Acuity EarthLIGHT in Action donation to the Chicago Furniture Bank.
We applaud West Michigan Lighting and Connexion for their great work and appreciate them joining Acuity Brands in putting EarthLIGHT in Action! Because of their actions and those of previous winners, Acuity Brands has donated $50,000 towards five important causes in 2023.
