Jean Jaurès High School, Cenon (France)

The project was to renovate Jean Jaurès high school in Cenon, in the South West of France. There are 700 students and a surface area of 7700 m². What was particular about this project was having to work while the site was occupied. It was essential that we guarantee student safety while the work was being carried out.

Why Distech Controls technology?

The inclusion of REST API web services, making it easier to interact with remote energy monitoring system, was a key argument in getting our technical proposal approved.

The Distech Controls solution was also attractive as it was open to programming, which guaranteed flexibility for the developers. It ensured that work could be done more easily and totally independently.

Solutions fitted in the building:

  • 6 connected modular ECY-S1000 ECLYPSE controllers
  • 14 connected ECY-303 ECLYPSE controllers for HVAC equipment
  • 4 ECY-MBUS communication modules
  • 4 HORYZON-C capacitive multi-touch displays with IP connectivity

Stakeholders:

  • Integrator: IISB
  • Fitter: IDEX
  • General contractor: GCC
  • Project management: Less Is More
  • Real-estate developer and investor: Conseil départemental de la Gironde

The LESS IS MORE management company was a major driver on this project as it has commitment with the Conseil Départemental (county council) to improve energy performance. LESS IS MORE worked hard to get the school R2S 4 GRIDS-certified. It was a first school to get this Smart Building certification!
