Misawa Military Airbase, Misawa, Japan

Located in Misawa, Japan, Misawa Airbase is a key military installation serving both U.S. and Japanese forces. With a rich history dating back to the Meiji period, the base plays a strategic role in defense and international cooperation. This retrofit project focuses on modernizing critical systems to enhance comfort, efficiency, and sustainability for family housing and essential facilities.
Why Distech Controls Technology?
Distech Controls was selected to provide advanced monitoring and control capabilities for VRF units in family housing. The solution integrates Mitsubishi and Daikin VRF systems through EC-BOS, linking back to an energy management system for centralized oversight. Migration is underway to Eclypse ECY-S1000 controllers, which also manage the domestic hot water system.
The choice of Distech Controls was driven by its flexibility, ease of integration, and scalability for future expansion. EC-Net offers the capability to scale up as the base grows, ensuring a future-proof solution that supports evolving operational needs.
