Juno AI Downlight Home Entertainment System from Acuity Brands Wins a Top 2020 LHFT Award

ATLANTA – December 9, 2020 -- Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) announced today the Juno AI™ downlight home entertainment system has won a top “Connected Home Product Award” in the 2020 Lighting & Homes for Tomorrow (LHFT) competition. The LHFT competition is organized by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency, American Lighting Association and UL. The LHFT competition is designed to help drive the adoption of efficient, connected products that demonstrate interoperability, reliability, and simplicity.

Juno AI is a premium entertainment system hidden in innovative downlights featuring industry- leading voice assistants and lighting control. It boasts five advanced technologies, putting top connectivity features in the hands of consumers – Juno® LED lighting, sophisticated lighting controls, premium JBL® speakers, Amazon Alexa built-in, and Samsung SmartThings – into a single downlight that easily and inconspicuously converts any house into a fully functional smart home.

“Juno AI connects to any Alexa-enabled or SmartThings device and empowers hands-free control of every smart home device from the best vantage point in the home – the ceiling,” said Jeff Spencer, Acuity Brands Lighting Vice President and General Manager of Smart and Connected Devices.

“The system features a daylight simulator to mimic times of the day from morning to afternoon and dusk with tunable and dimmable white LED lighting. Routines can be created to start and end the day with simple commands like ‘good morning’ to turn on lights, provide weather reports and play favorite tunes to get the day started; or ‘good night’ to turn off the lights, lock the doors and adjust  the thermostat. Juno AI weaves entertainment, security and, health and wellness seamlessly into our everyday lives,” said Spencer.

Juno AI was one of only three products to receive the Connected Home award within the lighting, controls, and ceiling fan categories based on multiple product attributes. In 2020, the LFHT competition sought residential connected lighting, lighting controls, ceiling fans, connected plug load controls, connected heating and cooling (HVAC) and thermostats, connected windows and window attachments, and other connected home devices that successfully deliver a positive consumer experience, energy management, and grid benefit.

The Juno AI system is currently available nationwide through electrical distributors and online at Amazon.
