eldoLED Releases Industry’s First DiiA Certified DALI-2 DT8 Tc Drivers
A Single Driver for Color Control, System Interoperability and Quality of Light for Use in LED Lighting Systems
ATLANTA, GA and SON, NL – February 13, 2020 Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) today announced that eldoLED®, a world leader in designing and manufacturing intelligent drive solutions for LED-based lighting systems, has received the first Digital Illumination Interface Alliance (DiiA) certification for DALI Device Type 8 (DT8) color type Tc drivers.
Drivers using the DT8 protocol, also known as DALI 209, can use a single DALI short address to control two or more outputs. This can yield cost savings for LED system installations when using tunable white driver technology (DT8). This technology allows the end user to change the color temperature and intensity of fixtures within an LED lighting system, a significant technology advancement for using DALI to specify and control color.
“DT8 certification is the culmination of eldoLED’s latest effort to elevate color science and is a significant step forward in our quest to bring digital solutions to market, simplify solution development, and drive the quality of light in LED systems,” said Gilles Abrahamse, Acuity Brands Lighting Vice President of Digital Luminaire Components. “Reducing the number of addresses simplifies design and commissioning as evidenced during eldoLED’s Groningen installation.”
Use of the DT8 driver technology is certified in the DUALdrive 562 driver model from eldoLED. Other DUALdrive products and certain LINEARdrive products are currently in the DT8 certification process. eldoLED drivers are interoperable with many LED systems.
eldoLED will demonstrate the full capabilities and advantages of DT8 at Light+Building in Frankfurt on March 9-13, 2020 and at LEDucation in New York City the following week. For further information, please contact a local eldoLED sales representative.
