IOTA® IQ Charge Controllers have been re-designed to feature a new multi-color LED indicator, making it simpler to determine the charging status of your connected IOTA DLS charger and battery load!
Depending on the IQ model you are using, the indicator light on the unit will be solid green, or flashing red or amber to help distinguish between the different charging voltages (bulk, absorption, float) being delivered to your battery - no more need to verify the number of flashes or flashing speed of the indicator to determine status! This new indicator feature will be standard on both external IQ charge controllers and IOTA DLS Chargers with internal IQ4 charge control.

Q: How do I know if I have a new IQ with the multi-color indicator?
A: For the most part, the new IQ and previous IQ models appear identical. When the IQ module is 'off' (ie. not yet connected to power) and the LED is not illuminated, you can distinguish the new models from previous models. The new IQ indicator LED will have a translucent white color when OFF and previous models will have a green appearance when OFF.
Q: Do the new IQ controllers perform differently?
A: Other than the color indications of the different stages, the new and previous IQ models function exactly the same in regard to installation and voltage parameters.
Q: Where can I find the color codes for the different charging modes of my new IQ?
A: The instruction manuals for IOTA battery charging products have been updated to include both the original and new status indicator meanings. Additionally, IOTA DLS chargers with integral IQ control feature an indicator status label corresponding with the IQ design within the charger.
Q: Is the multi-color LED on the IQ standard or is ordered as an option?
A: The new IQ design is standard on all IQ models currently being produced. You do not need to specify or request the multi-color LED when ordering, however for ordering and shipping purposes, documentation and materials may indicate the model name as "IQ 3COLOR"
Q: Are there any other changes to the new IQ design I should know?
A: Yes! The new IQ design has also been enhanced for optimal performance with IOTA's DLS 54-13 unit for charging 48V battery banks. You no longer need to order the IQ 54-Volt for these applications.
