(NYSE: AYI) announced today that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has certified that 12 models of the EvolAIR UV™ fixture from Healthcare Lighting® have been tested to comply with the State of California’s electrical safety and ozone requirements for Indoor Air Cleaning Devices. Certified devices produce an ozone emission concentration less than 0.050 parts per million. The EvolAIR UV series, an integrated UV disinfection* technology and LED lighting solution, is now listed as CARB-certified air cleaning devices. Healthcare Lighting is an Acuity Brands company.

The EvoAIR UV fixture powered by UV Angel Clean Air™ Technology is a controlled air solution that reduces pathogenic bioburden** in occupied spaces. This automated continuous UVC air treatment system continuously circulates pathogen-contaminated air through a sealed chamber and treats it with high-intensity 254nm UV-C light to inactivate bacteria, fungus, and viruses before returning air to the space.
EvolAIR UV fixtures integrate a sealed UV-C air treatment chamber with LED lighting into a 2’ x 4’ troffer and can be placed in existing or new construction ceilings. The EvolAIR UV fixtures are available for drop-in grid ceiling, recessed hard ceiling, surface mount or suspended installations. A discreet down-facing status indicator light provides easy sight verification of operation or maintenance. Illumination options include 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000k.
