EVO® Improvements: LED Upgrade, Nomenclature Changes, Added Lumen Packages

Three big changes are coming to the EVO line, including an LED upgrade, a nomenclature change and added lumen packages.

LED upgrade:

We’ve given the LED light engine an upgrade. In the most common 4” and 6” downlights and cylinders, we’re proud to announce that EVO is now achieving 100 lm/W. It’s hard to reach this milestone without compromising any of the signature qualities that Gotham customers depend upon, but we found a way.

The EVO light engine improvement applies to everything from a standard round downlight to a square, surgical suite downlight, resulting in about a 15% efficacy increase across the EVO product line.

This enhancement, paired with the exceptional characteristics our Bounding Ray™ technology provides, positions Gotham alone at the head of its class.

Nomenclature change:

Change can be hard, but feedback from our customers dictated we make one here, so we listened. We’re including the aperture size in the series name and putting it up front.

Ex: EVO 6” round downlight
Old:
EVO 35/10 6AR MWD LSS MVOLT EZ1
Consisting of
EVO 35/10 6 MWD MVOLT EZ1 HSG
EVO 6AR LSS TRIM U

New:
EVO6 35/10 AR MWD LSS MVOLT EZ1
Consisting of
EVO6 35/10 MWD MVOLT EZ1 HSG
EVO6 AR LSS TRIM U

The comprehensive list of nomenclature changes can be found here.

This results in several benefits to our agents and customers:

  • Faster, more accurate search results. Specifiers typically have an aperture size and a form factor in mind when they are searching for a product, so integrating them into the series name, rather than having such details farther down the nomenclature ordering string, makes it quicker and easier to identify whether the product you’re looking at is the one you want.
  • Consistency. Revising the series nomenclature makes Gotham EVO more consistent with other architectural brands like Aculux.
  • What you want. Easier to match “consisting of” breakout lines for housings and trims when the aperture size is no longer buried deep within the ordering string.

Added lumen packages:

We have added three lumen packages to the EVO4 and EVO6 series – 250 lm, 500 lm and 750 lm. In addition, the EVO4 now has a 3500 lm option. These new offerings help round out the robust EVO portfolio, which still includes luminaires up to 17,500 lm.
