Acuity Brands Completes Audit for SOC 2, Type-2 Report Reinforcing Ongoing Commitment to Security

March 21, 2022 Neil Egan

Acuity Brands has completed a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2, Type 2 Audit, covering the Company’s “Lighting, Lighting Controls & Building Controls Platforms and Services.” The audit affirmed that Acuity Brands’ policies, practices, procedures, and operations for the covered products meet the SOC 2® criteria for security and availability.

“Receiving a SOC-2 Type 2 attestation report builds on the Type 1 affirmation we received last year and provides evidence of how Acuity Brands’ audited products operate with robust capabilities over a period of time,” said Jazib Frahim, Vice President – Architecture and Product Security for IoT and Connected Solutions, Acuity Brands.  “Being able to provide evidence of SOC 2 Type 2 compliance provides our customers with a higher level of assurance by demonstrating that we have passed a thorough and rigorous examination of our internal control policies and practices as audited by an independent firm.”

The scope of Type 2 report covers Acuity Brands’ products, systems, applications, networks, development processes, human resources, and information assets as they apply to the handling of restricted information and development of products that comprise the Company’s:

  • Digital Lighting Networks: in-scope components consisting of nLight® (wired), nLight® AIR (wireless), Fresco™, SensorSwitch™, and ROAM® products;
  • Atrius® Technology Solutions: in-scope components consisting of Atrius Building Insights, Atrius Building Manager, Atrius Enterprise Locator, and Atrius Spatial Insights; and
