A Real-life Story of Tunable White Lighting in the Classroom

The Brooklyn, Guernsey and Malcom Community School in Brooklyn, Iowa (BGM)  serves 550 students ages pre-K through 12 on one campus. When the Superintendent learned about how Tunable White lighting could improve classroom environments, he wanted to test it out at the BGM district. 

The kids use iPads and I have a smartboard. I dim the lights for the smartboard. There are so many things I can do depending on the time of day. During writing time, I can dim them and play soft music. It really does calm them down.
